Epson EX70 3LCD Multimedia Projector, WXGA, 2000 Lumens

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)Most of the reviews on this product have been for primarily home use as part of a home theater system, or use as an outdoor projector for summer movies. I think the other reviewers cover its benefits quite well, and as this is not my intended main use for this projector (although summer outdoor movies do sound lovely), I will be focusing on its benefits as a traveling projector. First off, I would like to be clear that I haven't given this a full trial run on the go, but have been putting it through its paces within my home, based on the different scenarios I might use it for outside the home as a college level teacher. I have been relying on borrowed projectors, or university ones (that come delivered with huge, unwieldy carts), so this one will be reviewed primarily based on what I have found I disliked and liked about other projectors I have used. Overall, this is a nicely designed projector with clear picture and nice color (you can, additionally, select the picture mode you are using it for and it will adjust accordingly, nice extra benefit). The motor is not too loud, and the weight is not too heavy-- an important factor when you consider you might be carrying up stairs, or a few blocks to your presentation destination-- especially important to me, who parks about a 15+ min trek from my car to my classroom on campus and will most likely be laden with other bags of books and teaching materials. The bag that comes…

Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8500 UB LCD Projector (V11H337020)

This projector is really something else; if you haven't seen a mid-range projector in a few years, you're in for quote a shock. I'm using mine in a dedicated/light controlled media room on a 100" 1.1 gain screen. The image is really beyond what I expected, it's pretty incredible. A few things that I'll highlight (good and bad). First off, the projector is white. Most media rooms are dark colors, so this thing sticks out like a sore thumb. A black/dark color would be much better. Also, this thing is BIG. If you haven't seen one in person, be prepared for how large these projectors are. It's not bigger than I expected, but it's a big device (and reasonably heavy), just be ready for it when you place your order. Finally, this thing (and all projectors) makes some serious heat. It's usually mounted on the ceiling, so not that big a deal, but you certainly wouldn't want this thing right behind you; it's pretty hot. In my light controlled room, the image is almost too bright in normal mode; in "Eco" mode it's perfect. I've got about 17' of throw and a 100" screen; and I've never taken it out of eco mode; it's more than bright enough. Overall, I'm very happy with it; I'll have to update this review in a few months (and give a more long term view), but, as it sits right now; it's a great device; truly breathtaking picture.. For the price, certainly a 5 star item.

ViewSonic PRO8200 1080p DLP Home Theatre Projector

Got it fast and in the right condition, great customer service when I had a question, smooth transaction and loving my product every day!

Sony VPL-BW7 3 LCD Digital projector

I bought this projector last night and I am really enjoying it. Picture quality is good and sharp. I projected this on my apartment wall without any screen, even then quality is good and enjoying movies and tv in big screen. This has HDMI input which is giving good quality of output. Only drawback is it does not have audio, but I connected this to my home theater speakers and liking it. I will post some videos/pics soon.

Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8100 Home Theatre Projector (V11H336120)

This is my first review of any product, ever. I had tried out a projector about 10 years ago, and image was dim and blurry. I thought that I'd try again 10 years later. What a difference. I have used this with Draper 140" high contrast gray screen the image is huge, and when I'm done I just roll the screen up in about 2 seconds a 50 inch screen now looks like a postage stamp; - even w/o blu-ray (just upconverted) the image is beautiful - with blu ray I feel like I have a museum to the motion picture arts in my living room. It is magnificent, particularly at night without any ambient light. Kudos to Epson team - particularly the hard working engineers who stayed late in the labe to make this possible; manufacturers of regular flat screen TV's should be frightened of this product.

Epson PowerLite Presenter Portable Projector / DVD Player Combo (V11H335120)

The projector is easy to use and versatile. My only problem so far is that when I display a cd of jpg files, it will only do a slide show. You can't advance to the next picture with the remote. You have to pause, then start.

Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 3010, Full HD 1080p, 2D and 3D Home Theater Projector with Integrated Speakers (V11H421020)

I've had my epson 3010 for a few weeks now, and I believe I've reached the point where I'm familiar enough to put together a good opinion with a few backing facts.First, this thing is **BRIGHT**. As in, lights all the way up in the room, still plenty bright BRIGHT. I'm coming from another projector that's rated at 2800 lumens (optoma pro350w), and this thing blows it out of the water for brightness! For image quality - I'm not a trained critic, but it does look exceptionally good to my untrained eye. It beats my old projector in just about every way, but given that the old one is quite a but further down the entry level pricing scale, that definitely should be the case. What I can talk about is 3d. The old projector is a pro350w, and the common knowledge is that DLP is the way to go for low crosstalk 3d. And I've got to say, I've definitely never had a complaint in that department with the pro350w - But I've also got to say that if the Epson isn't matching it, the difference is low enough that I can't distinguish it. Basically, with either projector I can see very minimal crosstalk in black-on-white test screens, but I've never been able to see any hint of crosstalk in any movie I've viewed. And keep in mind, this is with a *MUCH* brighter picture, so any white imagery being "crosstalked" should be similarly more visible, but in my experience it's simply not an issue. For glasses, I've now found several options that work with this projector. Obviously the Epson glasses…

Epson EX50 3LCD Multimedia Projector, XGA, 2200 Lumens

The projector is really good for the price and works perfect. I bought it to watch movies and it works really cool..No issues so far and we already watched 3 movies.. And EPSON makes good projectors for sure..

Optoma HD20 High Definition 1080p DLP Home Theater Projector (Grey)

I decided to dump satellite and experience television off-the-grid, so-to-speak. So along with my macbook pro (if you know how to obtain content) and trusty PS3 +media server +netflix, surround sound system and 50ft HDMI and VGA cables, I created my ideal media center, complete with 93"-diag homemade 16:9 projection screen (1.0 gain screen material stretched over a wooden frame; there's other sites to help you with that). You definitely have to be a bit of a tinkerer for this kind of setup. Friends who come over struggle sometimes just "putting something on the tube". But it's mine, I don't care. Just like the old days, I think tv viewing is meant to be an event.. like going to see a movie. Now I haven't been to one of those in 6 months (darn you 3d avatar)- it's way too expensive. Now I watch blu-rays in amazing, better than theater quality at home and I don't have to step in a sticky mess on the floor or sit in gum, thanks AMC). But on the flip side, I don't watch as much tv with this setup as I used to. When I do though, it's the stuff I want to see, WHEN I want to see it. And the shooting noobs on video games. Now for the technical bits (coming from a quality snob): -The 1080p/720p image is fantastic. COD Black Ops is scaled up a bit from 720, but it's computer generated anyway, who can really tell the difference. It's awesome for gaming, but only after you tweak your settings a bit. Blu-rays look awesome. -Sometimes the screen goes pink when the input signal…

Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350

I just got this projector to replace my aging Sanyo PLV-Z1. The 8350 represents a very nice upgrade in resolution, light output, and contrast at a price less than what the Z1 cost me eight years ago. My first impression when I got the 8350 is that it was huge. It is probably double the size and weight of the Z1. None of the pictures on here had prepared me for how big this was going to be. Luckily my mount was just barely big enough pick up the mounting holes. Which brings me to my next high point. Epson includes a card with the projector that has a private support line number and access code. A quick flip glance through the manual failed to turn up the mounting bolt size, so I gave the support line a try and was able to get through immediately and get the answer (M4 x 9mm). I felt stupid later on when a closer examination of the manual turned up the answer. At least I got a chance to try out the support! After getting the projector mounted, I fired it up. I'm projecting from a ceiling mount about 14 feet away from a 110" diagonal screen in a dark basement theater. The lens shift (like in the Z1) greatly eases setup. I was able to quickly get the image roughly aligned, sized and focused. The 8350 has a built in pattern generator that puts a line around the perimeter of the display area that should make it easy to align. Unfortunately, the projector lacks any keystone or pincushion type correction. For some reason, I cannot get the picture lined up perfectly with the edges…

Epson EX7210 WXGA 3LCD Widescreen Business Projector, 2800 Lumens, 16:10, HDMI, USB, 5.1 lbs

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)I am a teacher and am using two versions of this projector currently in my classrooms, the EX7210 and the EX3210. This review includes both general information about the two projectors and describes the differences between them. General review of the Epson Multimedia Projector: Applicable to both models The projector itself is smaller than I expected. It is also reasonably light and comes with a carry case for easy transport. As teacher who moves from room to room the portability is handy. The carry case has a strap long enough to throw it over your shoulder, a real plus when you are juggling stuff between classrooms. The case has a front pocket for the power cord and remote as well. The manual and CD (for extra info) are originally packed inside this front pocket of the case. Inputs: The projector is absolutely idiot proof when it comes to inputs. You can push the button that says Source Search and it will find where you are trying to input and start displaying the information. Light output: Light output is strong enough that Powerpoint presentations can be seen with the projector 20 feet away from the screen (this is as far back as I can get it in the room in partially lit room. Partially lit in this case is defined as the overhead lights are off but the three windows do not have blinds. The room is bright enough that the students can easily see their papers and take notes (and I can see the students!). These projectors…

Epson Multimedia WXGA 2600 Ansi Lumens LCD Projector V11H361120 (POWERLITE 1760W)

My wife is a trainer for teachers and throughout the year, she travels to various schools to present sessions on Singapore math.As she can never tell what the projector situation will be like at the school or facility she visits, she has been borrowing projectors from her own school when she travels. This year, they mounted them all to the ceiling, so we were finally forced to buy one.I wanted to get her something light as she's already typically traveling with her laptop and carry-on so I didn't want to add too much more mass to her travel load. At the same time, it had to meet various other criteria as well for brightness, resolution, and ease of use. After recently having seen a Casio Slim XJ-A235 in person and being pretty much blown away, I was very settled on getting a Casio. However, the 2500 lumen XJ-A240 is nowhere to be found (out of stock almost everywhere online as of this writing) and I didn't want to buy up to the XJ-A250 or 245, which everyone seemed to have in stock. After researching portable projectors for a few hours, I finally found the 1760w, looked through the features, and decided to take the plunge, even with the lack of professional reviews online. My biggest concerns going in was the fan noise as it was listed as being louder than the Casios which operate at 35dB normal/29dB Eco while the 1760w is listed at 40dB/30dB respectively. However, I am pleasantly surprised. When you initially turn it on and when you switch from Eco to normal mode, the fan does…

InFocus ScreenPlay 8602 WUXGA (1920 x 1200) DLP Projector - HD

Let me state no single projector is perfect. There will be a give and take with any unit you purchase. The SP8602 is not without its flaws. I believe the engineers could have put more effort into designing a better cable management area. The one used is a good idea, but it lacks stability. The plastic clips are flimsy and will break easy if you're not careful. Also the DI action could have been better. If your unit has the old firm ware you'll need to upgrade it to one of the newer V7x versions in order to get better iris action. It still won't be as smooth as some, but it will be better and less aggressive. OK now for the good stuff! I've been looking for an upgrade to my current Benq W1000 for 3 or 4 months now. It's a stressful process of elimination trying to find what fits one's budget and taste. On firing the unit up, I find it imperative to set the projector not to search for an incoming signal. Set the unit to lock on one input, so it doesn't spend 30 seconds looking for a signal. I've spent the last few months viewing the units I could find in my area. Having seen Sony's VW60 and VW70s I've found the image quality great! My only problem was brightness. Neither would light up my 120 inch screen with a few lights turned on. I've also seen the Epson 8350 and 9350..basically the same projector. The 9350 cost is much closer in cost to the SP8602. Other than cost..these units have NOTHING in common. The level of clarity and depth the 8602 provides is on a much higher level.…

Mitsubishi HC4000 300-Inch 1080p Front Projector (Black)

After years of service, my Optoma HD70 720p projector gave up the ghost. I thought of getting another Optoma, but when doing research, I found rave reviews for this Mitsubishi. I decided to buy it instead, and boy I'm glad I did!I'm using it in a dedicated, light controlled home theater with a 109" DIY screen with a gain selected for the Optoma HD70. Setup was easy because it has the same image offset as the Optoma. I did, however, change out the projector mount to this: VideoSecu Universal LCD/DLP Projector Vaulted Ceiling Mount Bracket Black with 25.6" extension pole PJ2B 1C9.Compared to the HD70, the image is noticebly brighter, even on low mode. It is also noticeably sharper. That may be a combination of a better lens and also being 1080p compared to 720p. The image is also much smoother, with subtle gradations especially in very dark (better shadow detail) and very light (better highlight detail) areas. The Mitsubishi has a good reputation for lamp life and the rated life is much longer compared to the projectors in or near its price range.I've had the projector for a week and the more I watch it, the more impressed I am. We watched some of "Rango" last night and I was just floored with the image quality. As my wife stated, "Why would we ever go to the movie theater again when the picture is so much better here at home?"Although I didn't want to spend the money on a new projector, I'm glad I bumped up my budget and got the Mitsubishi instead…

Epson EX31 Multimedia Projector

This projector works great; easy set up, clear picture, simple controls, and even easy keystone adjustment. The one thing I didn't expect was to hear it. If you're getting it for powerpoint presentations, it may be a little loud. I use it for videos so the volume of the video overpowers the projector, but I was disappointed because I do also use it in a small classroom setting where it would be nice if I couldn't hear it. I don't know Dbs, but it's louder than I had hoped. The Decibals weren't listed in the specs. That would've been nice.
